For its 250th anniversary in 2011, Faber-Castell presents the highest artists’ quality in its most beautiful form: the Art & Graphic jubilee cabinet combines the best from a couple of centuries of experience in developing and producing exclusive artists’ products.
The hand-crafted wooden case is stained a deep warm brown, the colour of the wenge wood favoured by cabinet-makers, contrasting effectively with the simple but highly serviceable carrying handle made of metal sheathed in leather. The case clicks securely shut and is opened by twisting a pair of elegant knobs.
Inside the cabinet, some excellent products in finely nuanced colours are just waiting for their creative use. The 120 Polychromos artist’s colour pencils and 120 Albrecht Dürer watercolour pencils contain a high density of pigment with maximum fade resistance, guaranteed to retain their brilliance for decades. There are also 120 Polychromos artist’s pastels, 60 Pitt pastel pencils, and 15 Castell 9000 black-lead pencils in all grades from 8B to 6H.
This magnificent assortment is rounded off by some high-quality accessories. The cabinet contains a spectrum of essential items for the professional artist: a watercolour brush, porcelain water pot, eraser pencil, art eraser, and much more besides. The practical construction means that individual drawers can be pulled out and set up for specific types of creative work.
The exclusive designer cabinet is a limited jubilee edition of 1761, to match the year in which the company was founded. Each cabinet is numbered on a little plaque and so represents an unmistakable and unique work of art in its own right.
